Looking back on 2015

It’s always fun to look back on a year’s activity. I just took a look at all that we published on our blog over the course of 2015, and it was gratifying to see just how much we’ve shared, from observations about the industry to useful tips for publishers and advertisers to announcements of new AppLovin products.  

Here’s a quick snapshot of just some of my favorite posts of the year…

Three cheers for new launches!

Everyone at AppLovin works so hard to make sure that our customers have what they need to be successful in their businesses. Last spring, we launched on Amazon, then in November, we were very proud to be the first in our industry to launch SDK for tvOS. Good thing, because the new Apple TV totally took off over the holidays!

And another three for offering sound advice…

One of the things we enjoy doing most with our blog is sharing our perspective with developers, in very practical ways. For example, just a couple of weeks ago we offered some nuts-and-bolts tips on how to get started with tvOS, because we truly do believe there is no time to waste when it comes to that new platform. Another one of my favorite posts in the “advice” category was one from nearly a year ago outlining common pitfalls mobile app developers face. (Indeed, “Sweet server-side salvation” just might be my favorite turn of phrase for all of 2015.)

And a final three for data…

One of the key benefits we offer our customers, and really the industry overall, is useful analysis of our data, particularly through our Data Desk series. Back in October, we joined forces with AppsFlyer to pair their data with ours to drive home the point that mobile video ads are where the action is. Similarly, we partnered with TUNE to drill down into when, in terms of the time of day and days of the week, mobile spending is most likely to happen. (Don’t forget: in mobile, Fridays and Sundays generate more revenue than any other days of the week!)

At AppLovin, we look forward to 2016 with great optimism — to all of the developments that are sure to come in this incredibly fast-moving industry, and to continuing to provide our customers with products and insight that keep up with so many different aspects of this incredible field.
